In the past couple of weeks, I have heard some of you talk about an imposing and consuming force wrecking havoc…overwhelm.

Let’s open the closet door and turn on a light to look at this most hideous monster. All of you know what overwhelm feels like so I won’t wear out your adrenal glands regaling you with the symptoms of this monstrosity. Suffice it to say it feels like going through a car wash without your car.

I have a confession to make.

Is there an art to asking?

This will be short. I have something I want to share about ASKING. Yep, asking.

How do you feel about asking? Is it okay to ask? Do you have judgments about it? Do have any fears? How do you feel when you are asked?

These questions have come up recently which often means answers start coming in too, and from unexpected places. I came upon this TED Talk and I’d like to share Amanda Palmer: the art of asking. Continue reading
